Polyphemus
According to Greek mythology, Polyphemus was the most famous and fearsome of the Cyclopes, giants with a single eye who lived in Sicily.
In the Odyssey, the famous epic poem by Homer, Polyphemus captures Odysseus and his companions, imprisoning them in a cava (‘covo’). However, thanks to his wit (and the use of a good local red wine!), Odysseus manages to deceive the Cyclops and escape with his men!

“Il Covo is the offspring of the best grapes ripened under the Sicilian sun and nurtured by the roaming Mediterranean winds. Structured, warm, and intense, it expresses itself with the peppery notes of Syrah and the rich aromas of ripe red fruit.”
