The Warrior of Capestrano
The Warrior of Capestrano is a 6th-century BC funerary sculpture depicting an ancient Italic warrior and is one of the most powerful symbols of Abruzzo’s tradition and pride.
Discovered by chance in 1934 during agricultural work in Capestrano, it was immediately recognized as a rare archaeological treasure. The statue, about two meters tall, features an imposing armor and a characteristic headdress, elements that reflect the artistic skill and warrior identity of the ancient Vestini people.
Today, the artifact is housed in the National Museum of Abruzzo in Chieti, where it attracts scholars and visitors alike.

“Abruzzo boasts a grape variety that is extraordinarily balanced with hints of violet, red berries, spices and tobacco, resulting in exceptionally pleasurable wines of great structure.”
